The ORNL DAAC announces the release of two new SAFARI 2000 data sets.
The data set "SAFARI 2000 MODIS L3 Albedo and Land Cover Data, Southern Africa, Dry Season 2000" is a southern Africa subset of Filled Land Surface Albedo and of Land Ecosystem Classification Product derived from selected MODIS products. The data cover 7 sixteen-day time periods from July 11 through October 15, 2000.
The "SAFARI 2000 Solar Spectral Flux Radiometer Data, Southern Africa, Dry Season 2000" data set contains simultaneous Solar Spectral Flux Radiometer (SSFR) measurements of both upwelling and downwelling net solar spectral irradiance at twenty varying flight levels. The data are provided for the time period August 17 through September 15, 2000.
The SAFARI 2000 project was conducted during 1999-2001 to develop a better understanding of the earth-atmosphere-human system in southern Africa. Visit our SAFARI 2000 page to learn more about the project and to access associated data maintained by the ORNL DAAC.
