The ORNL NASA DAAC announces the beta release of the MODIS Global Subsetting and Visualization Tool for Collection 5. This tool provides custom subsets of Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Land products in ASCII format on demand for any location on Earth.
Users select a site (either from a picklist or by entering the site's geographic coordinates) and the area surrounding that site, from one pixel up to 201 X 201 km. Processing of these custom subsets may take up to 60 minutes, so the tool will send you an email message containing the URL for output delivery upon completion.
Global subsets can be generated by selecting the Create Subset at http://www.modis.ornl.gov/modis/Global_Tool.cfm .
