BOREAS Feb 21 Release

Submitted by ORNL DAAC Staff on

Another 14 data sets from the Boreal Ecosystem-Atmosphere Study (BOREAS) were added to the ORNL DAAC's offerings as of February 21.

The newest data sets contain tower flux and meteorological data, remote-sensing images, data and geographic information system (GIS) coverages related to forest cover, and measurements of soil characteristics.

BOREAS was an intensive remote-sensing and field study of a Canadian boreal forest. Investigators measured exchanges of energy, water, heat, carbon dioxide, and trace gases between the forest and the atmosphere from 1993 to 1996.

For further information about the study and for a listing of all 263 BOREAS data sets, see the BOREAS home page maintained by the ORNL DAAC.
