BOREAS Mar 24 Release

Submitted by ORNL DAAC Staff on

The ORNL DAAC released 11 additional data sets from the Boreal Ecosystem-Atmosphere Study (BOREAS) on March 24.

The newest data sets include meteorological data as well as terrestrial ecology data related to forest cover and soil characteristics.

BOREAS was an intensive remote-sensing and field study of a Canadian boreal forest. Investigators measured exchanges of energy, water, heat, carbon dioxide, and trace gases between the forest and the atmosphere from 1993 to 1996.

For further information about the study and for a listing of all 274 BOREAS data sets, see the BOREAS home page maintained by the ORNL DAAC.
