The ORNL DAAC released 26 new data sets from the Boreal Ecosystem-Atmosphere Study (BOREAS) on November 12 and 16, 1999. These releases bring the total number of published BOREAS data sets to 212.
The newest data are related to airborne fluxes and meteorology, remote sensing, terrestrial ecology, and background measurements (called "staff science").
BOREAS was an intensive remote-sensing and field study of a Canadian boreal forest. Investigators measured exchanges of energy, water, heat, carbon dioxide, and trace gases between the forest and the atmosphere from 1993 to 1996.
