The ORNL DAAC announces the release of additional data files for four data sets from the BigFoot Project. These data sets include gridded surfaces of land cover, leaf area index (LAI), Net Primary Production (NPP), and Gross Primary Production (GPP) data from 2000 through 2004 for selected EOS Land Validation Sites.
In addition, we are also making available an NPP/GPP validation summary product, which was developed by the Bigfoot investigators for each of the nine BigFoot sites. Each summary contains images and figures associated with creating the BigFoot NPP and GPP products, comparing them to MODIS products, and assessing the causes of differences.
The overall goal of the BigFoot Project was to provide validation of products from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MODIS) onboard NASA's Earth Observing System (EOS) satellite Terra.
