Revision Summary:
An alert data user called to our attention that the data file "aes_upper_air_l1_ifc2_96.dat" did not display correctly and had a gap in the data time series.
Evaluation of the data file revealed a stray binary record within the file. Data records were missing for site NSA-999-WTH02 on days July 29, July 30, and July 31 in the "aes_upper_air_l1_ifc2_96.dat" data file.
An uncorrupted version of the full data file was recovered from a backup source.
Because of the large file size, the file was subset by site name into 5 smaller files for user downloading convenience.

No changes to data set documentation were necessary.
Data User Action: If you downloaded and/or used the referenced data set from the ORNL DAAC on-line archive before May 06, 2004 you should download it again from the ORNL DAAC.
Please note that the BOREAS CD-ROM Set of 12 disks was not affected.
