SiB3 Modeled Global Carbon Flux Data Set Released

Submitted by ORNL DAAC Staff on
The ORNL DAAC is pleased to announce the release of the SiB3 Modeled Global 1-degree Hourly Biosphere-Atmosphere Carbon Flux, 1998-2006, which was prepared by Ian T. Baker and A. Scott Denning.

The Simple Biosphere Model, Version 3 (SiB3) was used to produce a 1-degree resolution global data set of hourly carbon fluxes between the atmosphere and the terrestrial biosphere for the years 1998-2006. This data set reports 9 years of estimated hourly carbon flux (moles C/m2/sec) for 14,637 land points. These data are provided in netCDF, CF compliant netCDF, and GeoTIFF formats.

The CF compliant netCDF and GeoTIFF formatted files were prepared by the ORNL DAAC to provide hourly and summarized daily-mean and monthly-mean. Additional access to these files is available through the ORNL DAAC Spatial Data Access Tool, and through the ORNL DAAC THREDDS Data Server.
