Another 14 data sets from the Boreal Ecosystem-Atmosphere Study (BOREAS) were added to the ORNL DAAC's offerings as of February 21.
The newest data sets contain tower flux and meteorological data, remote-sensing images, data and geographic information system (GIS) coverages related to forest cover, and measurements of soil characteristics.
BOREAS was an intensive remote-sensing and field study of a Canadian boreal forest. Investigators measured exchanges of energy, water, heat, carbon dioxide, and trace gases between the forest and the atmosphere from 1993 to 1996.
