NASA's Applied Remote Sensing Training (ARSET) Program's Using Earth Observations for Pre-and Post-Fire Monitoring is an advanced training webinar with instructor supported hands-on-exercise labs.
Participants will review pre-fire risk assessments by investigating land surface and climate variables; conduct post-fire mapping of burned area and burn severity using vegetation indices such as the Normalized Burn Ratio (NBR); and assess fire risk and post-fire mapping and monitoring for effective management and decision-making.
Part 1, on January 18, 2020 from 12:00-3:00 (EST) will focus on Pre-Fire Mapping, while Part 2, on January 20 (same time) will focus on Post-Fire Mapping.
