Data and images are now available from the Prototype Validation Exercise (PROVE), a field campaign conducted in May 1997 at the Jornada Experimental Range near Las Cruces, New Mexico.

The ORNL DAAC announces the release of two new data sets and two revised data sets from Phase 2 of the Vegetation/Ecosystem Modeling and Analysis Project (VEMAP).

The ORNL DAAC has released a data set entitled "Global Gridded Surfaces of Selected Soil Characteristics (IGBP-DIS)." The data surfaces were generated by the SoilData System, which was developed by the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP) Data and Information Services (DIS).
